An experimental investigation of fracture toughness in the ductile-brittle transition range was conducted. A large number of ASTM A533, Grade B steel, bend and tension specimens with varying crack lengths were tested throughout the transition region. Cleavage fracture toughness scaling models were utilized to correct the data for the loss of constraint in short crack specimens and tension BS 1503-243-430 - Equivalent MaterialsEquivalent Materials to BS 1503-243-430. May 01, 1999 · The dynamic fracture toughness of an ASTM A533, Grade B steel plate was determined at several temperatures in the ductile-brittle transition region. Crack-tip loading rates ranged from approximately 10(sup3) to 10(sup5) MPa m/s. The fracture toughness was shown to decrease with increased loading rate. The dynamic fracture toughness was compared with results from previous GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY OFFICE OF Irradiation Upon the Fatigue-Crack Propagation Behavior of ASTM A533 Grade B, Class 1 Steel, HEDL-TME 71-132, Hanford Engineering Development Laboratory, Richland, WA (September 1972). 22. The thermal-aging treatments were conducted at 399, 425, 454 and 490 C (750, 797, 850, and 915 F) for times of 168 and 2000 h.
(HSST) performed at ORNL . Another ASTM A533 grade B class 1 plate is the IAEA correlation monitor material, plate JRQ, which is also well characterized within the international community. A third ASTM A533 grade B class 1 plate is HSST Plate 13. Fracture toughness of this plate has been extensively characterized within the HSST program by The effect of frequency and environment on the fatigue Jul 01, 1979 · The effect of frequency and distilled water environment on the fatigue-crack growth characteristics of ASTM A533 Grade B Class 1 weldment material was studied with major emphasis placed on the crack growth along the weld centreline as well as along the heat affected zone (HAZ).
